HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-Lee University Baseball freshman Malachi Cloud was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II South Region Second Team on Thursday. This achievement comes off of him being named to the Gulf South Conference First-Team.

 Cloud has had a strong year as a freshman. He hit .400 this season going 44-for-110 from the plate. His average is fourth best in the GSC. Of his 44 hits, ten were home runs and nine were doubles. He had 31 runs batted in and is 29-31 in stolen bases and is second in the GSC in that category. He slugged a team best .755 and is second in the GSC. His on-base percentage is fourth best in the GSC at .489. He was 21 free bases with 13 walks and eight hit by pitches. He also scored 42 runs. He had a walkoff home run to beat Montevallo, and a walkoff on a wild pitch to beat Union. He was also named freshman of the week three times this season.
