Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- The Lee University softball team gave up 19 runs in five innings to fall to the University of Alabama in Huntsville 19-2 in the first of a three-game series on Friday evening.
UAH used three singles and a double to score three runs and take the lead in the bottom of the first. They added eight runs in the second on four hits, three walks, and a hit by a pitch.
In the third, UAH hit a three-run home run, and a grand slam to added seven more runs. The Lady Flames finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning when Rylie Goodridge hit a two-run home run to score Javaria Smith. UAH hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth for their final run.
UAH out hit Lee 12-4, however four Lee pitchers gave up 11 walks and two hit batters. Smith had two of the four hits for Lee while Goodridge and Alyson Jarvi each had a hit as well.
The Lady Flames will look to bounce back on Saturday with a double header against UAH. First pitch in Huntsville is scheduled for 2 PM.
