BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- After two big wins last week, Lee University women's tennis players Maria Penalver Aguilo and Aliyah Dwyer each earned Gulf South Conference weekly tennis awards as announced by the league on Wednesday.

Maria Penalver Aguilo was named player of the week in the GSC. She helped the Lady Flames upset #2 North Georgia and beat Lincoln Memorial this week to remain undefeated on the season. Against UNG, Maria won #2 doubles 6-2 and then won #2 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Against LMU, she lost #2 doubles 2-6 but won #2 singles 6-1, 6-4.
 
Aliyah Dwyer was named freshman of the week. She helped the Lady Flames upset #1 North Georgia and beat Lincoln Memorial this week to remain undefeated on the season. Against UNG, Maria won #1 doubles 7-5 and then won #4 singles, 7-5, 6-2. Against LMU, she lost #1 doubles 3-6 but won #4 singles 6-3, 6-4.
