LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After a stellar senior season. Lee University softball outfielder Ana Macha was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All South Region Second team. The 2025 NFCA squads are comprised of 208 student-athletes from 115 programs.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
Ana Macha was also named to the First Team All-GSC this season. Ana Macha has had a dynamic season at the plate for the Lady Flames. She has the best batting average in the GSC. She has more hits than anyone else. Macha had the second most steals, top five in runs scored, and top sixth in on base percentage. Defensively, she has a .963 fielding percentage, as an outfielder she has over 50 putouts and two assists. Macha was a Second Team All-GSC in 2023.
Head Coach Emily Russell is proud of what Macha was able to accomplish this season. "Ana had a great season. I'm proud of the work she did and the way she played for the team. She led the gsc in hitting through the regular season and was at the top for stolen bases as well. She is a dynamic player that has a heart for her team and teammates. She deserves to be an all American on the field and in the locker room."
