Tennis Earns ITA Team and Individual Scholar Awards

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2025 Division II ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams this week. The Lady Flames and Flames were both awarded the All-Academic Team distinction and had 14 members named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Lady Flames were among the 104 women's programs to receive All-Academic Team status, while the Flames made up part of the 76 men's programs to attain the honor.

Seven of the 705 women to be named ITA Scholar-Athletes came from the Lee women's team. Those representing the Lady Flames on the list were Nicolette Fuhr, Kanna Kobayakawa, Vitoria Maximiliano, Jasmine Ibegbulam, Ashleigh Simes, Maria Penalver Aguilo and Aliyah Dwyer.

The Lee men had seven members join 570 others to make up the men's tennis ITA Scholar-Athlete honorees. The Flames receiving the award were: Quinn Groenendijk, Jip Langerhuizen, Jackson Vaughn, Jace Sanford, Filipe Krohn, Stefan Mos and Rytis Razminas.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
