CAMEL CITY DISTANCE RESULTS
BIRMINGHAM, Ala./ASHLAND, Ohio/WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Cameron Stine highlighted the Lee University men's track & field weekend at four different meets with a first-place finish in the heptathlon at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Friday and Saturday in Ashland, Ohio. Another group of athletes traveled to JDL Fast Track for a pair of meets in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Camel City Sprints was held on Friday with the Camel City Distance on Saturday. On Friday, several Lee members were at the Birmingham CrossPlex for the UAB Green and Gold Invitational.
Provisional Qualifying Performances
- Cameron Stine scored 4,889 points to finish first in the heptathlon at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Open. He exceeded the needed point total of 4,749 points to reach the provisional. His performance is No. 28 on the NCAA DII Performance List.
- Shaw Helfrich cleared 5.00 meters in the pole vault to place first at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational and to pass the provisional standard of 4.80 meters. His mark is No. 25 on the NCAA DII Performance List.
- Pierre Chauveau finished first in the mile at the Camel City Distance meet with a time of 4:05.31 to beat the provisional time of 4:07.63. His time is No. 29 on the NCAA DII Performance List.
- The Distance Medley Relay team of Stephen Clark, Aiden Shaw, Will Adkins and Edimo Ninteretse placed second at the Camel City Sprints. Their combined time of 9:48.70 beat the provisional mark of 10:00.44. Their time is No. 8 on the NCAA DII Performance List.
Coming Up
The Flames are scheduled to compete at the Indoor Music City Challenge at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility on February 13-14. Lee will then travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for the GSC Indoor Championship which will be held at the CrossPlex February 19-20.
