Track and Field Earns Four Weekly GSC Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  - Four different Lee University track and field athletes earned a weekly award from the Gulf South Conference as announced by the league on Wednesday. On the men's side, Pierre Chauveau was the track athete of the week and Shaw Helfrich was the freshman of the week. On the women's side, Brynn Depinet was the field athlete of the week and Liz Lannom was the track athlete of the week.

Depinet competed in the Pole Vault at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational this past weekend. She placed first overall at the meet with a mark of 4.00m. This mark places her 10th in the nation and first overall in conference standings. 

Lannom competed in the 60 meter hurdles at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational this past weekend.  In the 60 hurdles, Lannom ran to a blistering 8.45 which won her the meet. This mark was also a  personal best and an indoor school record. This time places her eighth in the nation and first in conference standings.

Helfrich competed in the Pole Vault at the UAB Green and Gold Invite this past weekend. He placed first overall in the meet with a mark of 5.00m. This mark is first overall in conference and places the freshman 25th in the nation.

Chauveau competed in the mile at the Camel City Distance this past weekend in Winston Salem, N.C.. He ran a personal best of 4:05.31 which placed him first overall at the meet out of 92 competitors.. This time places him 29th in the nation and first overall in conference standings.
