BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Lee University track and field teams earned three different Gulf South Conference weekly awards as announced by the league on Wednesday. Edimo Nintereste on the men's side was the track athlete of the week. On the women's side, Liz Lannom was named the track athlete of the week, and Aubrey Anderson was the freshman of the week.
Anderson competed in the triple Jump at the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invite this past weekend. While doing so, she jumped to a personal best of 11.55 meters. This mark placed her second overall in the meet. This mark is also good for second overall in conference standings.Â
Lannom competed in the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter run at the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invite this past weekend. In the 60 hurdles, Lannom ran 8.58 which placed her third overall in the preliminary sections. This mark was a personal best and an indoor school record. This also places her 15th in the nation and first in conference standings. Lannom's 200 meter was also impressive. She ran 24.54 which placed her second overall. This places her 26th in the nation and first in conference standings.
Nintereste competed in the 5000 meters at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic this past weekend. He ran a personal best of 13:53.31 which placed him 10th overall at the meet. This time places him 9th in the nation and first overall in conference standings.
