Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Lee University softball team saw their five-game winning streak come to an end with an 11-3 loss to Union University on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Flames scored three runs in the first inning and then were shutout after that point. Lee will remain on the road with a doubleheader at Emory & Henry University on Wednesday.
The three runs for Lee came off of another home run by Addi Lewis. This time she hit a three-run blast scoring Eva Armstrong and Sadie Winsett. It was her sixth home run of the year.
Union answered four runs on six hits and a Lee error to take the lead which they never surrendered. That remained the score until Union ended it in the sixth. Union posted seven runs on six hits with another Lee error to win it 11-3.
Lewis had the only RBI in the game while Winsett had two of the five hits for the Lady Flames. Hailey Simco and Addison Emmerson had the other hits.
Kaylee Underwood took the loss for Lee. She started and only threw one inning. She gave up four runs on six hits. Layne Bailey threw four and one-third innings and gave up five runs on five hits with none of the runs being earned. Abigail Welbaum threw one third on an inning and gave up two runs on two hits.
