Lee 9, GGC 0

Freshman Angie Hughes (16-1) worked four scoreless innings and the Lady Flames offensive took advantage of five GGC errors to take game one 9-0.

Hughes allowed just two hits and struck out five. The freshman peppered the strike zone and did not allow a free pass in the contest.

Hannah Hight, making her first appearance of the year after battling through injury, came on and worked a scoreless inning of relief.

Lee jumped ahead early with a five-run first inning. Amanda Lynn lead off with a single. After a Lexie Dean sacrifice bunt, Dominique Hannah reached on an infield single. Jennifer Ringle followed with a single up the middle to load the bases with one out for Dezirae Parsons. Parsons reached on GGC error that scored Lynn.

Ana Coscorrosa would make it 2-0 with a RBI single to left field. With the bases loaded and one out Charlie Wooden reached on error scoring Hannah. Parsons and Coscorrosa would also come home when the Grizzlies compounded the problem with a throwing error. All totaled GGC committed three errors in the first leading to three unearned runs.

Parsons finished 2-for3 with a double and a RBI. Coscorrosa also registered a double and drove in three. Laurel Allen added a two-run single in the Lady Flames four-run third to help put the game away.

Savanna Bell made sure the shutout would stay intact when she reached over the center field wall to rob Georgia Gwinnett's Heather Kilar of a two-run homer in the third inning.

Ashleigh Simmons finished 2-for-2 for the Grizzlies. Ashley Beyke (14-12) worked four innings in the circle and gave up nine runs (six earned) on eight hits.

Lee 10, GGC 0

The night cap was more the same for the Lady Flames. Behind a strong outing from senior Katie Deems (6-1) Lee struck early for four runs en route to a 10-0 drubbing of the Grizzlies.

Deems allowed just two hits over four scoreless innings. She struck out three and walked only one. Hight worked another scoreless inning of relief, setting Georgia Gwinnett down in order to seal the five inning run-rule victory.

Errors haunted the Grizzlies once again. After an error prolonged the bottom of the first inning Wooden delivered a two-run bloop double down the right field line to give the Lady Flames the early 4-0 advantage. Coach Emily Russell's club would add two in the second and four more in the third to extend the margin to 10.

Lee pounded out 11 hits in the ballgame. Allen added a pair of singles and scored twice. Dean finished a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored and drove in two. Lynn and Hannah also had multi-hit games as the first three batters in the Lady Flames' lineup went a combined 7-for-7 with five RBI and six runs scored.
