RESULTS
MEADOWBROOK, Ala. – In the final race before the Gulf South Conference Championships, Lee University women's cross country team placed sixth out of 10 teams in the Gold Race at the UAB Blazer Classic. The 6K course was contested at Veterans Park and was the first time this season the No. 7 Lady Flames competed at that distance.
Louisville was the team winner with 77 points and Clemson was second with 106. Four points separated third place with sixth. South Carolina (115) was third with Arkansas State (116), Auburn (117) and Lee (118) placing fourth through sixth.
Celine Ritter was the top Lee runner. The senior finished third with a time of 20:58.13. Purity Sanga of Louisville posted a winning mark of 20:43.04.
Hannah Spooneybarger completed the course at 22:05.92 for 18
th. Toni Moore was 26
th with a time of 22:16.71 and Danielle Horter finished 30
th (22:25.94). Olivia McLain was Lee's final scorer at 22:48.49 (41
st).
Audrey Royer's time of 23:22.84 put her in 55
th. Grace Adams (24:03.00) and Lily Hare (24:03.24) crossed the finish line at No. 72 and 73. Elizabeth Heckman was 78
th (24:16.78) ad Elizabeth Beckham was 89
th (25:05.71). In her first competition of the year, Liza Kellerman finished 93
rd (25:55.21).
The Lady Flames conclude the 2020 season on October 31 at the GSC Championships. The event will be held at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
