HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The No. 10 Lee University women's cross country team put four runners in the top 30 in a field of 400 to place third at the UAH Charger Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning. The 5K race was held at John Hunt Park.

Seventh-ranked Cedarville University placed all five of its scorers in the top 15 to win the team competition with 46 points. Wingate University, ranked No. 6, edged Lee for second with 105 points to Lee's 112. Charleston (W.Va.) came in fourth with 135 points.

In addition to the top three teams in today's race, three other schools entered the weekend either in the top 30 or receiving votes. Lewis University was ranked 16th and finished fifth and No. 28 Rogers State placed eighth. Tampa had received one vote in this week's poll and placed seventh. Charleston was No. 30 last week before dropping out of the rankings in the most recent poll.

"Our women had a solid day," said Lee head coach Caleb Morgan. "They have been so consistent all year. Aria Hawkins had a breakthrough day and gives us a really good low stick going into the post season."

Hawkins led Lee to the finish line with a time of 17:25.70 to tie for fifth overall and mark a personal-best. Her previous top 5K time was 17:34.69 from earlier in the season on the same course.

Danielle Horter finished 16th with a mark of 17:45.50 and Liza Kellerman stopped the clock at 17:53.40 (22nd). Olivia McClain and Lily Hare were the final two scorers for Lee. McClain (18:00.10) was 30th and Hare crossed at 18:08.60 (38th).

Megan Adams (18:26.90) and Ashlyn Iliff (18:35.10) were the Lee spacers. Adams finished 60th and Iliff was 70th.

Katie Krueger's time of 18:52.30 put her in 104th and Phoebe Moran placed 113th (18:58.10). Elizabeth Heckman (19:11.20) was 138th, while Elizabeth Beckham (19:25.70) came in 154th.

The Lady Flames have completed the regular season portion of their schedule and begin postseason action on November 5 in the Gulf South Conference Championship. The conference meet will be contested at the Montevallo Cross Country Course on the University of Montevallo campus.
