RESULTS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lee University women's cross country placed sixth out of 37 teams in a loaded Gold Race of the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. The 5K race featured nine teams in the Top 25 of the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II ratings, including the top two.
No. 2 Grand Valley State collected 58 points to claim the team win. No. 1 Adams State had 95 points to finish second, while Eastern Michigan (155) was third and Louisville (224) finished fourth.
The 10
th-ranked Lady Flames tallied 275 points to claim sixth place, one spot ahead of No. 5 UC-Colorado Springs (292). Other ranked teams were No. 27 West Texas A&M (10
th), No. 11 Cedarville (17
th), No. 25 Mississippi College (18
th), No. 18 Pittsburg State (20
th), and No. 24 Azusa Pacific (31
st).
Aria Hawkins was the first Lee runner across the finish line. Her time of 17:27.3 was good for 19
th overall out of 325 runners. Gladys Chepngetich of Clemson was the individual winner after stopping the clock at 16:43.4.
Ashlyn Iliff completed the race at 17:58.9 for 54
th, while Liza Kellerman (17:59.7) was 57
th. McKenna Cavanaugh and Danielle Horter were Lee's last two scorers. Cavanaugh finished 74
th (18:07.7) and Horter was 85
th (18:13.2).
Katie Krueger placed 105
th with a time of 18:26.8. Phoebe Moran was the second spacer for the Lady Flames. She crossed the finish line at 19:05.5 for 198
th.
Katie Bream posted a time of 19:20.2 for 231
st, Zoe Brickley was 234
th at 19:21.2, Julia Halterman placed 271
st (19:40.2) and Elizabeth Heckman was 303
rd (20:24.5).
The Lady Flames have completed the regular season and will travel to Huntsville, Alabama for the Gulf South Conference Championships on October 21. The championship will be held at the John Hunt Park Cross Country Course.

"Aria Hawkins mixed it up well for us at the front. We need someone who can be a top 20 individual for us at nationals in order to accomplish our team goals. That's the time of runner she looks like she is right now."
"We didn't have our No. 2 runner Lily Hare; she was sick this week. This was a great opportunity for our women to step up and they did. Ashlyn Iliff, Liza Kellerman and Danielle Horter all had major break throughs that will help us as we prepare for the post season."
