RESULTS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 10
th-ranked Lady Flames finished eighth out of 29 teams in a loaded Gold Race at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic Saturday morning. The 5K race was held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
West Virginia was the overall team winner with 36 points. Clemson was second (100) and Ohio (122) finished third. West Virginia and Clemson were both receiving votes in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Coaches' Poll.
Two other Division II teams joined Lee in the top eight. No. 13 West Texas A&M placed fourth with 147 points, while No. 9 UC-Colorado Springs was just ahead of the Lady Flames in seventh (186). The Lady Flames placed two runners in the top 20 of the 265-runner field on their way to collecting 200 points.
Aria Hawkins was the first Lee runner across the finish line. She stopped the clock at 17:15.4 for 14
th place. Celli McCabe of West Virginia was the top individual with a time of 16:06.0.
Ana Patricia Campos was the next Lady Flame to finish with a mark of 17:23.8. The time put her in 17
th overall. Letlhogonolo Magoro placed 43
rd with a time of 17:49.9 and Megan Adams was 55
th (17:55.8). Estella Clemons completed the Lee scoring with a time of 18:13.8 (76
th).
Lily Hare and Ashlynn Iliff acted as the Lee spacers. Hare completed the run at 18:17.9 (84
th) with Iliff right behind in 85
th (18:18.5).
Katie Krueger's time of 18:25.2 put her in 97
th position. Katie Beam finished 138
th at 18:49.6 and Lyndi Chapman posted a time of 19:02.4 (160
th). Emily Liddle (19:33.1) placed 207
th, Karis Kalley (19:50.9) was 225
th and Abi Moore finished 254
th (20:42.7).
The Lady Flames are scheduled to be back in action on October 12 with a trip to Huntsville, Alabama, for the UAH Charger Invite. The 6K race with be held at John Hunt Park with a 9:50 a.m. EST start.
