Flames Place 10th at NCAA Championships

RESULTS

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Lee University men's cross country team completed its season with a 10th place finish at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships Saturday morning. The 10K championship race was held at Wayne E. Dannehi National XC Course on the campus of University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

The Flames had three runners among the top 60 and amassed 375 points to finish 10th. Cal Western Washington edged Lee by two points to grab ninth position. NW Missouri was just behind in 11th with 380 points. Wingate won the team championship with 62 points. Adams State was second (71), Colorado School of Mines placed third (121) and Grand Valley State was fourth (122).

Kidus Begashaw of Adams State was the individual champion with a time of 29:38.8. Tucker Wright was Lee's top finisher at 50th overall. He crossed the finish line at 30:53.9. Edimo Ninteretse was close behind at 30:57.4 for 53rd place. Pierre Chauveau stopped the clock at 31:01.9 for 58th.

Evan Moore and Chris Ross completed the Lee scoring. Moore finished 132nd out of 262 runners with a time of 32:03.8 and Ross was 138th (32:08.0). Ryan Lovelace finished 186th with a time of 32:31.2 and Luke Gaddis rounded out the Lee finishers at 219th (33:03.3).
