Lady Flames Place Sixth at Lucian Rosa Invite

Freshman Capucine Cureau was Lee's second finisher Saturday morning in Wisconsin.
RESULTS

KENOSHA, Wis. – The 12th-ranked Lady Flames placed sixth Saturday morning at the Lucian Rosa Invite. The 6K race was held at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course and served as a preview of the 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships that will be held on the same course on November 22.

Colorado School of Mines, ranked No. 4, collected 51 points to claim the team win. No. 1 Adams State was second with 77 points. The next three teams were: No. 8 UC-Colorado Springs (83), Northern Michigan (169) and No. 15 CSU-Pueblo (178). Northern Michigan received votes in the latest poll. The Lady Flames tallied 232, the same total as No. 24 Minnesota State.

Grace Strongman of Colorado School of Mines was the top individual with a time of 20:36.71. Lee's top finisher was Maria Mitchell with a fifth place finishing time of 21:32.72.

Capucine Cureau was the second Lady Flame to cross the finish line. Cureau stopped the clock at 22:25.67 to place 38th overall in the field of 207 runners. Estella Clemons was close behind in 45th with a time of 22:32.93.

Ava Sparks finished at 22:55.37 for 69th position. Lyndi Chapman was Lee's final scorer at 86th (23:12.73). Katie Beam was about a second behind in 88th with a time of 23:13.76. Sadie Wielfaert served as Lee's second spacer with a time of 23:25.91 (104th).

Sawyer Simmons and Abi Moore were the final two Lee runners to complete the circuit. Simmons finished 149th (24:11.48) and Moore was 159th (24:22.91).

The Lady Flames are scheduled to return to action on October 11 in Huntsville, Alabama, at the UAH Chargers Invitational. The race is set to be held at John Hunt Park.
